When God Wants to Dance…

…does He do the disco?

Because last night He put on a lightning show so spectacular, it looked like a strobe light at a disco hall.

Accompanied by the music of rain and the applause of thunder. The flashes and booms came so frequently that you could hardly tell to which lightning the thunder was answering.

Do you send the lightning bolts on their way?
Do they report to you, ‘Here we are’?
Job 38:35

The entire storm lasted about four hours. The most intense part, when the strobe light was enough to cause a seizure, lasted an entire hour.

The clouds poured down water,
the skies resounded with thunder;
your arrows flashed back and forth.
Psalm 77:17

We didn’t dance. But since there was little wind, which meant no imminent threat of danger, we did have a little slumber party on our bed. And we watched the show. And we listened to the music. And we were in awe.

The lights flashed. The thunder boomed. And the rain fell. And fell. And fell.

When He thunders, the water in the heavens roar;
He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth.
He sends lightening with the rain and brings out the wind
from his storehouses.
Jeremiah 10:13

And our little town was flooded as never before.

Who has the wisdom to count the clouds?
Who can tip over the water jars of the heavens.
Job 38:37
