Distraction

Blue sky,

green buds emerging,

warm breeze,

chorus of birds.

These are a continual and welcome distraction.

I soak them all in through the window above my desk. And when lunch break comes, I step out into the beauty of it all for a few glorious moments. I breathe deep, close my eyes and lift my face to the sun. I listen to the melodies of a half dozen different birds, and my heart swells as my shoulders relax.

Such is the distraction of Spring.

And I am grateful.

In hope,
Shelli
