dear and precious gifts

The heart of the giver makes the gift dear and precious. – Martin Luther

There is no greater heart than the one of the Giver. And I continue to count the gifts because He never ceases to give. – #1052 – 1074

After being apart for a whole week, God delivered the best gifts late last Sunday afternoon:

  • they’re finally home!
  • kissing in the parking lot
  • his scruffy face; quickly clean-shaven again
  • son telling me he missed me
  • listening to their stories and looking at the pictures they took
  • snuggled up next to my man – right where I belong
  • watching my man “geek out” over lichens on our fence
  • black-eyed susans

  • flowers that he brought in from the garden
Mid-week, our girls’ bible study met for the third time. And more blessings followed:
  • seeing these girls that I’ve known for years in a new light, a more personal light
  • already beginning to love them
  • From Head to Foot by Annie Downs
  • them staying late just because they were busy chatting
  • this opportunity to teach
  • a new friend for my daughter
  • daughter’s hand healing after an injury the previous week
  • already gearing up for school with band and sports practices beginning
  • fall sports schedules entered into our calendar; only one overlap of events
  • the topic of our church’s mid-week bible study
  • anticipating the excitement of autumn; still enjoying every bit of summer

In hope,
Shelli
