apart and together again

This week has been one of firsts for us. The first time my son and my man have gone away on a youth mission trip. The first time we’ve ever been apart this long. And the first time my daughter and I were home alone for a whole week.

There was no shortage of gifts to count: #1027 – 1051

  • sending them off to serve the least of these
  • the first call to let me know they arrived and were settled in
  • a quick phone call every morning to let me know how they were doing
  • hearing my man’s voice
  • knowing how to get the generator set up when we lost power the first day
  • power coming back in just a few hours
  • air conditioning for a week of record-breaking temperatures
  • being so busy that the week passed pretty quickly for us
  • slipping quietly outside at night to see the stars with my girl
  • marveling together over the beauty that God provides night and day
  • mowing the lawn for my man so he won’t have to
  • temps finally cooling down enough to provide the opportunity to mow
  • my girl bringing me an ice cold glass of water, twice!
  • a fun day with my mom
  • going to estate sales for the first time {won’t be the last!}
  • good finds
  • hard belly laughs
  • homecoming day finally arriving
  • sending my man a “we can’t wait to see you” pic

  • taking a crazy long time to get it just right
  • Instagram
  • anticipating their arrival
  • looking forward to the stories they’ll share
  • a text that they’re only 15 minutes away!; heart going pitter-patter

In hope,
Shelli
